Mission Statement

It shall be the mission of the Union City Police Department:

To protect life and property, to prevent the occurrence of
crime, and to apprehend and prosecute violators, giving
residents of Union City Indiana a secure community in which
to live.

To diligently serve the citizens of Union City Indiana.  To
respond to all citizen requests for service with efficiency and
courtesy, regardless of personal opinions of the matter or
persons involved.

To provide intervention services where needed.

To promote positive relationship between citizens and
members of the Police Department.  To promote safety and a
positive image of law enforcement to the community.  To
support and defend all citizens, regardless of race, color,
creed, social status, physical or mental challenges, or newness
to the community.

To promote better working relationships with all departments
within the city.  We better serve community when we have a
strong working relationship.

To allow all members of the department to improve
professionally and personally, to diligently train to be prepared
to deal with an ever-changing society.

To be accountable citizens ourselves in the community, and to
promote positive values in our personal lives.
